Richard Thomas Deanda of Golden, was born January 4th 1940 to Ersie Trujillo and Charlie Deanda in Trinidad, CO Richard was 7 when the family moved to Oak Creek, CO and after a couple years they moved to Denver. Richard attended North High School and graduated from Annunciation High School.
In 1957 Richard enlisted in the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Rainier, which was an ammunition ship. He was honorably discharged in Oct. of 1960.
On April 29th, 1961 Richard married Martha Virginia Herrera. They had two children Julie in March of 1962 and Richard Charles in December of 1963.
Richard worked for General Services Administration for 30 + years. He retired on a Friday and the following Monday started working as the President of the GSA Credit Union and retired in 2007. Richard loved working and had various part time jobs including making candy, being an usher at the Auditorium Arena, piling Richard C’s football team in the back of his pick up and taking them to Scotty’s for hamburgers and a drink.
Richard loved to hunt, fish and watch baseball games especially the Rockies, but most of all enjoyed attending and cheering for his grandchildren at their events. He never missed one!
He is preceded in death by his parent’s Ersie and Charlie Deanda and his beloved wife of 40 years Martha Deanda. He is survived by his children Julie (Stephen) Gonzales and Richard (Stephanie) Deanda, Grandchildren Richard S., Matthew, Nathan (Jay), Joseph, Martha and Daniel Deanda. Loving Companion Frances Munoz, Step children Gary (Norma) Callis, Carla (Harry) Knight and step grand daughter Mae. Brother of Alan ( Dorothy ) Deanda and Frances Deanda. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
